Since graduating with distinction from the honours business administration program at the Ivey School of Business, Cavin’s career now encompasses 18 years of experience spanning capital markets and wealth management. He began at TD Securities, where he excelled as an investment banking analyst advising on mergers, acquisitions, and financings. Transitioning to credit risk management, he honed his expertise by working with Canada’s largest pension plans and complex risk scenarios—skills that continue to define his risk-managed client-first approach today.
In 2011, Cavin entered wealth management and quickly became recognized as the #1 developing advisor nationally at TD Wealth. His leadership earned him a seat on TD Wealth’s national advisory council, advising senior management on strategic business initiatives. In 2016, Cavin and his team transitioned to RBC Dominion Securities, drawn by its best-in-class capabilities in serving HNW clients. Today, Cavin is recognized within RBC Dominion Securities as a leader in HNW portfolio management and is often called upon to speak at RBC DS management conferences as well as at partner conferences hosting private and commercial banking professionals.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Cavin serves as Chair of the Finance Committee on the Board of Directors for the London Middlesex Humane Society and supports organizations such as SickKids Hospital, Boston Terrier Rescue Canada, and Wounded Warriors. He also, takes pride in mentoring upcoming graduates of the Ivey MBA and HBA program.
