A friend sent me an article earlier this week entitled, “What your Halloween costume says about your personality” and asked me what I was planning on dressing up as this year. To be honest, I haven’t decided what I’ll be dressing up as tomorrow night and was (secretly) considering not showing up to the Halloween party I’ve been invited to and later claiming that I was there (dressed as Harry Potter with my father’s cloak of invisibility)…
For all of you Halloween slackers out there (myself included) here are 40 cheap & last minute Halloween costumes to consider. I think I’ll do the “Smarty Pants” idea and tape smarties to my pants. Get it?
The article, written by a psychologist, suggests that your costume is a display of your dark side, ulterior motives, creativity and fantasy. Expressing our personalities is accomplished in many ways and when it comes to my world, there are 5 distinct Retirement Personalities that I see most often because when it comes to planning for your retirement, one size certainly does not fit all.
1. The Nervous Nelly
You always look both ways when crossing the road – twice. And when choosing investments for your
retirement, your favorite word is “guaranteed.”
2. The Penny Pincher
You spot an unclaimed loonie on the sidewalk – you’ve just increased your net worth (significantly). You perceptibly know the value of a dollar – or a penny, for that matter. That’s why, when it comes to your retirement, you’re a Penny Pincher
3. The Family Person
Nothing matters more to you than your family. You feel largely responsible for their financial well-being. You’ve also put some serious thought into your legacy to your family.
4. The Philanthropist
For you, retirement is an opportunity to get more involved in the community, and give in more meaningful ways to causes important to you (even if that means buying more Girl Guide cookies from the neighbors’ kids than you could ever possibly eat.)
5. The Jet Setter
You like to live large, travel the world, and enjoy the finer things in life. You want to worry less about managing your money, and more about spending it. But while you’re living the sweet life, someone has to pay attention to the money.
So, which one are you?
