Welcome to the third episode of ‘In conversation with Dian Chaaban’ a podcast in where I let you in on the very interesting conversations I am having with various colleagues, analysts, economists and topic experts. As an extension of my blog, Word on the Street, this podcast is intended to keep you in-the-know and informed with all things market, economy, money and wealth management related….with a few laughs along the way.
Some of you may already know that my team extends to some very brilliant and talented people, doing valuable work behind the scenes. One of those people is Tasneem Azim-Khan. She is the US Equity Portfolio Analyst within our Portfolio Advisory Group – a desk of super brainy analysts who keep me informed daily on not only the portfolios we’re managing but the bigger picture trends with respect to the market & the economy. It goes without saying that Tas is my favourite and we have a standing bi-weekly chat in our calendars to talk stocks, trends ….and sometimes we talk about shoes & what to binge on Netflix. And so it was only natural that she be my next guest, so that you can listen in on one of our typical chats.
In this episode, we discuss:
- COVID! When will it end? What’s the word on how Covid will progress in 2021? Are we getting back to normal? Whatever normal means >> 2:30 – 19:25
- The pronounced divergence between Wall Street and Main street – it’s become evident that they are not the same….but are they even correlated or related? The market seems to be firing on all cylinders while the economy is floundering. How could that be and what is the outlook for both? >> 19:30 – 36:30
- The election was a big deal for a long time…and now we’re past it. So what does a Biden administration mean for global markets? >> 38:00 – 46:20
