"I first met Thomas in 2006 when I interviewed him for a Co-op Student position with the Government of Canada. During the interview, he quickly proved to be a very impressive young man – erudite, thoughtful, intelligent, and mature beyond his 20 or so years. Needless to say, we hired him for the one-year Co-op term, and when he subsequently graduated from Simon Fraser University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, we were happy to offer him a full-time position as a Client Accommodation Services Advisor responsible for coordinating the provision of office accommodation requirements for various federal departments and agencies throughout BC and Yukon.
Although I retired from the government in 2008, I kept in touch with Thomas and many of his colleagues and am pleased to note that he continued to maintain the same high work standards and level of integrity he had demonstrated when we first interviewed him.
A couple of years ago, an opportunity presented itself, and Thomas moved to RBC Dominion Securities to pursue a career as an Investment Advisor - a role which he had trained for as a student. Several months ago, my long-time financial planner retired, and I didn’t hesitate to ask Thomas if he would look after my portfolio. Since that time, I have once again been struck by Thomas’ calm demeanor, his professionalism, and his general willingness to think outside the box. As a closing comment, I would suggest that the Federal Government’s loss is definitely RBC’s gain, and I would not hesitate to recommend Thomas to anyone who may be looking for a new Investment Advisor."
