That being said… you also want to stay open to those ‘signs from the universe’. What do I mean by that?
You know when you buy a red car, and then suddenly you start to notice red cars everywhere? It was like that for me with the incredible entrepreneur and operations guru Cameron Herold.
Way back in 2018 I interviewed Pierrette Raymond, one of the very first 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise partners, and one of the first women franchise partners in the company, for my podcast I’m a Millionaire! So Now What? (listen & subscribe here).
During our discussion Pierrette mentioned Cameron Herold. We talked about Cameron’s concept of Vivid Vision and it really got my attention. Here’s a snippet of our conversation:
“Cameron Herold was our founding COO of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? and he’s the founder of the COO Alliance. Part of my work is to lean into the future and create the vision. At 1-800-GOT-JUNK? we call it the Painted Picture. Cameron calls it the Vivid Vision. It's creating the vision for your life in the next three years. So here I am a big planner. I want to look into the future and what we're creating and reverse engineer it. But sometimes the universe has other plans for you. Things happen. I'm always one who says say yes to the right thing, say no to the wrong things, but you really have to know what your priorities are to do that. The closing message is really just to trust in you, trust in your own voice, your own experience, your own expertise, because you’ve got it.”
After that fun, frank advice from Pierrette I started to notice Cameron’s name coming up all over the place. Like those red cars.
