Running Reflections: Can you have balance?

“Savour the stillness that the balancing poses bring” - says my yoga app.

While I proceed to fall out of each pose – Awkward.

Half Moon, King, Dancer, Tree.

Listen, I am not a learned scholar of yoga.

I practice yoga for its mindfulness, flexibility, and strength benefits.

Still (no pun intended ?!?)…

IMHO - the propagated idea of “work/life” balance is laughable.

Instead, I believe in an ebb and flow of focus

Or priorities.

Last month, I focused on a daily practice of yoga and meditation.

This month, I am alternating between running, strength training and yoga.

Other times, I have focused on running in preparation for a marathon or half marathon.

All in all, it is the accumulation and consistency that creates a healthy lifestyle.

Right?!

Extrapolated into every area of life.

BALANCE

In this world of “live your best life” and “you can have it all”, what is the reality?

Can we have a ‘balanced’ life?

Probably NOT in the short term.

Not Daily

Not Weekly

Not Monthly

Maybe NOT even Yearly

But, yes, over our lifetime, likely!

Sending the ‘after yoga feeling’ over to you to carry into rest of your day; Self-Made Nation!

Namaste.

Join me for Coffee

Have heard about my 50 coffees effort? In gratitude for turning 50 in 2023, I’ve been enjoying an exciting challenge, and I'd be thrilled to have you on board. I will be having a series of 50 coffee dates – and guess what? One of those dates could be reserved just for you! Let's catch up, enjoy some coffee, and you can help me continue to celebrate in style.

I'm excited to share that I'll be making a $20 donation to an incredible charity for each coffee date. With a total of $1,000 set aside, I invite you to match my contribution with your own $20 donation.

Together, we can make a real impact!

If you’d like to join me for a coffee, drop me an email or a DM on LinkedIn, and let's coordinate our coffee connection. Oh, and don't forget to share your charity of choice – let's make our coffee dates count!

TTFN, Colleen
