Charles Lasnier is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor at RBC Dominion Securities.
His parents encouraged him early on to develop his curiosity, scepticism and independent thinking. He considers these qualities as crucial for any advisor. As a youngster, he attended his first general assembly at the age of 13. In those days, Charles held 7 Bank of Montreal shares and to his amazement his parents allowed him to miss school to attend the assembly. The following year, he registered in a stock exchange camp with HEC.
Charles created his first company in 1985 and took an active role in politics in 1989 during the US-Canada Free-trade debate. In 1990, he discovered the joys of volunteer work when he accepted the responsibility of junior hockey coach. To this day, he still volunteers in various organizations.
Charles received a B.A. in political science in 1992, an MBA in 2000, and the Canadian Investment Management (CIM) designation in 2005.
Charles joined RBC Financial Group in 1992. Over the years, he acquired a solid understanding of management principles and adopted a conservative financial philosophy. 1992 was a great year for him as this is the year he met his wife, Danielle and mother of his children, Frederic and Sophie. A long-time member of the Royal Montreal Golf Club, Charles likes to golf, ski, cycle and insists on walking the beach of Biddeford Pool (Me) at least once a year.
