James Kopp expands his horizons every day and has more than 20 years of experience educating clients on the strategic use of insurance. He loves meetings with clients unsure about insurance, because he can see the light bulb go on.
Doreen has been in the financial services industry since 1988, both as an advisor and as a wealth planning analyst, where she assisted advisors with providing high-quality financial planning services to their high-net-worth clients.
Prior to joining RBC, Doreen provided comprehensive financial planning guidance and advice to executives, business owners, professionals and high net worth families. Doreen assists clients in addressing all areas of their wealth by using a holistic approach to Financial Planning.
Doreen believes that planning is critical to helping people meet their financial objectives. Doreen’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting comprehensive Compass Financial Plans for clients.
Donald Bell, BA, CFP®, R.F.P., TEP, JD

A graduate of the University of Winnipeg, Donald Bell received his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba, and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1984.
Donald is a practicing member of the Law Society of Manitoba and has also earned the Registered Financial Planner (R.F.P.), Chartered Financial Planner, Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designations.
Donald Bell is a lawyer who has held senior positions with several investment and life insurance companies. He has extensive experience from both the head office and field perspective in the areas of wills, estates, taxation, insurance, financial and retirement planning. Donald provides analysis and development of advanced estate, tax, insurance and wealth planning strategies for high net worth clients, working in conjunction with their advisors.
Donald is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners and the Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC). He has spoken at numerous industry gatherings and public seminars on investment, estate, financial planning, and insurance matters.
Donald is also very active in his community where he is involved with a number of charitable organizations.
Daryl brings with him more than 25 years’ experience to his role as Estate and Trust Advisor. He serves clients throughout the Manitoba and Saskatchewan market and is located in the Winnipeg Office. With his experience in both management and client relationships, he understands the necessary skill set needed to support the complexities that Estate & Trust Services requires.
A graduate of TAFE – University of Southern Sydney with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting. Daryl has continued to deepen his knowledge with key industry designations including the Personal Financial Planning designation (PFP) and the Accredited Derivative Advisor designation (ADA). Financial Markets and Strategic Investment Management are a passion for Daryl and his willingness to educate and better himself has been key to his success.
As an Estate and Trust Advisor Daryl can discuss estate settlement and administration services, trustee services, trust structures, and other specialized services offered through RBC Estate & Trust Services throughout Canada. He works with individuals, families and businesses who wish to protect their assets and transfer their wealth for generations. Daryl can provide customized solutions to help individuals carry out executor duties and can help to expedite the settlement process and maximize the estate’s value through knowledgeable handling of estate and tax issues.
Coady Cormier, BBA (Fin), LL.B, TEP

Coady’s expertise includes tax and estate planning for business owners, professionals, executives, retirees and individuals with U.S. issues. He also assists individuals facing significant financial events (for example, sale of business, financial windfall, retirement, severing residential ties with Canada, etc.).
For more than 20 years, Coady has assisted high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families with their complex planning needs. Coady is a tax lawyer, and he has occupied his current planning role at RBC since 2008. In providing planning information to clients, Coady frequently communicates with their external professional advisors.
Coady’s educational background includes a law degree from Dalhousie University as well as the completion of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada’s) In-Depth Tax Course (Levels I, II and III) and the CPA Canada’s Tax Issues for the Owner-Managed Business Course. He is a member of both the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta Branch (South)) Tax Specialist Section. Also, Coady was called to the Bar in Alberta and Ontario. Further, in addition to his finance degree from Bishop’s University and the completion of the Canadian Securities Course, Coady is a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
