Following graduation from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Dian joined the financial services team at RBC Royal Bank's Plaza Main Branch. During her tenure at the bank, she provided clients with personal banking solutions, investment strategies, and credit and lending facilities to help them reach their financial goals.
Dian’s enthusiastic approach to client service was recognized by RBC Dominion Securities and she was recruited to be a National Business Development Consultant with the firm. In this role, Dian traveled across the country helping Investment Advisors and their teams run more efficient practices, both in terms of their client service and business-growth plans.
As her passion grew for helping clients achieve their financial goals, senior management suggested she would be a great fit as an investment advisor. She followed this sound advice and joined RBC Dominion Securities as an Investment & Wealth Advisor. Backed by Canada’s leading wealth management firm, Dian is confident in her ability to go beyond investment advice to address the wide range of concerns related to her clients’ financial and life goals - she is especially known for her thoughtful and patient approach to helping families address their complex financial concerns and fosters confidence in their future by bringing the best of RBC to her clients through a team approach.
Dian regularly educates her clients and those around her about the world of finance and believes that financial literacy should be a common conversation. To help turn the dial further, Dian authors a widely read blog, Word on the Street, in where she correlates what’s happening in the world to the financial market, making it a fun, digestible and educational read.
Dedicated to her alma mater, Dian served as a Director on the University of Guelph Alumni Association and is the founder of the popular Gryphons on Bay Street annual networking event in Toronto. Dian also served as a member of the RBC Dominion Securities Women’s Advisory Board and founded the ‘Women of Ambition’ (WOA), an exclusive and strategically crafted private group of women entrepreneurs and professionals who are motivated and eager to grow their respective businesses.
A believer in giving back to her community, Dian volunteers at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute spending time with those who are recovering from an injury similar to hers and regularly presents on the topic of financial literacy to kids of all ages to help encourage them to save, spend and share their money.
Away from the office, Dian is a (hopeful) golfer, scotch collector and broken neck survivor. She resides in downtown Toronto with her husband, Mark and son Alastair.
