As a child, Panos lived in Greece and Uruguay – and in Argentina, where he would have a friendly argument with his mother every Monday morning.
Young Panos took public transit to school. The problem was that the national currency was devaluing so quickly, Panos had to ask for more bus fare every week. “We finally agreed that whatever it cost for five bottles of Coke that day; that is what my mother would give me for the bus.”
In South America at that time, “there was always the fear that someone was going to take your money away from you,” Panos recalls. Banks would shut down, cutting off access to your money, but the monthly bills would keep coming. It was a difficult learning experience that guides, to this day, Panos’ approach to managing clients’ wealth.
He appreciates first-hand how hard people work for their money, and the importance of protecting and prudently growing it – so he set out to master it. First with an undergraduate degree in Economics and International Relations and then with a Masters in Economics from Northwestern University in the United States. Thus an economist by training, he began his financial services career in 1994 as an options trader in Chicago and joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2003.
The core purpose he shares with his team is straightforward but serious: to make his clients’ lives better. His vision is to have a lifelong relationship with every single one of them.
The route to that special relationship is paved by focusing every day on their mission: we are helpful to our clients, the very best way they need us to be.
In addition to his economics degrees, Panos holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations.
He volunteers his time for organizations including the Windsor/St. Clair Rotary Club, District 23 of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), Windsor South Canadian Little League Baseball and the Greek Orthodox Community of Windsor.
His extensive credentials, together with experience living on three continents and a deep commitment to community works in Windsor-Essex, means he quite literally brings a world of knowledge and perspective to his clients.
With a distinct passion for getting things done and renowned for working evenings and weekends, Panos motto is:
“Having integrity means more to us than simply the absence of deception. It means we are completely forthright in all our dealings. We say what needs to be said, not simply what people want to hear.” - Scott Cook, Intuit founder
