Portfolio Manager
Success comes from working hard and doing right by people. Richard learned these lessons as a young child by observing his father’s interactions with the clientele at his grocery store, bringing to life the adage that the customer is always right. This client-centric focus stuck with Richard as he grew up, teaching tennis as a teen to pay for his business and finance schooling at Université de Sherbrooke, and later as he embarked on a career as an investment advisor.
Nearly four decades since, as founder and portfolio manager at Team Adam of RBC Dominion Securities, Richard continues to put people first, managing the $770 million with which his clients collectively entrust him prudently and with deep care. Working closely with his clients and their families, he creates tailored investment portfolios and customized wealth management solutions to help them achieve their goals. Richard is passionate about helping people find financial peace of mind, and still finds every element of his job fun, from catching up with clients to reading market news to analyzing companies’ economics. “It’s a privilege to do this work every day,” he says.
Committed to the highest standard of excellence, in addition to a Bachelor of Business Administration degree specializing in finance, Richard holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.
Outside of work, Richard is heavily involved in the Eastern Townships community. He is a member of La Fondation du Bureau des gouverneurs of l'École de gestion de l'Université de Sherbrooke, which he also supports through le Fonds Richard Adam, which, each year, makes donations to the students. Richard has also served on the board of directors of the Séminaire de Sherbrooke.
When he’s not serving his clients or his community, Richard loves to spend family time with his wife, Chantal, and their two sons, Charles-Antoine and Pierre-Olivier. A former competitive tennis player, Richard also likes to stay fit on the course.
Associate Wealth & Investment Advisor
A once international-level competitive cyclist, Bruno knows first-hand that setting oneself up for success requires consistency and discipline. Through hard work and dedication, Bruno built up these personal traits as a youth – one early morning training session at a time – and he upholds them to this day as a wealth and investment advisor.
A core part of Team Adam since 1997, Bruno diligently strategizes and constructs investment portfolios for our clients alongside Richard. As a trained notary with several years of on-the-job experience, he also draws on his professional roots in law to help clients navigate all their other financial matters, such as estate, retirement, and financial planning, as well as taxation and philanthropy. In all he does, he focuses on delivering clients financial confidence. “I like to help people find peace of mind, finding solutions to their problems, big or small.”
Bruno is a certified financial planner and financial security advisor, as well as a member of the Institut Québécois de planification financière. He also holds a Bachelor of Law degree and a Diploma of Notarial Law from the Université de Sherbrooke.
Beyond his work, Bruno is passionate about art. He is a member of the board of Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke. Bruno and his wife collect contemporary art, and he is a founding member of the Club des collectionneurs en arts visuels de l’Estrie.
True to his athletic upbringing, Bruno enjoys trail running and cycling in his down time. A proud father to two boys, he also loves to travel with his elder son and hunt for VHS tapes with his younger son, Emmanuel, who has autism spectrum disorder.
