Originally from the west, Elwood has more than 30 years’ experience in the investment industry. Elwood holds a BA and MBA in Finance as well as a Ph.D. in Church History, in addition to multiple industry designations.

Elwood specializes in investment management for high-net-worth families, executives, and businesses. His focus on long-term relationships and peace-of-mind investing have resulted in the Enns Investment Management Group being one of Canada’s most trusted and recognized advisory teams for nearly three decades.

Elwood has done extensive charitable work serving on the board of several non-for-profits. In his spare time, he is an avid golfer as well as a collector of antique and rare religious texts.

Most of all, Elwood and his wife, Karen, enjoy spending time with family. While the family is able to spend a lot of time together outside of work, Elwood considers himself ‘especially privileged’ to work with his two sons, Matthew and Daniel, who are both a part of the Enns Investment Management Group.

Back in Ottawa since 2013, after living in Vancouver for many years, Matthew brings broad work experience in communications consulting, small business advocacy, and entrepreneurship to the Enns Investment Management Group.

Matthew holds a BA in Political Philosophy, an MBA in International Business and has studied graduate-level humanities. He also holds several industry designations and is currently completing his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.

He works with a diverse client group and believes getting to know a wide variety of interesting people and perspectives is the best part of being an Investment Advisor.

Matthew serves on the Board of the Robert Borden Scholarship Fund, of which he is a founding member. He lives in Westboro with his wife, Whitney, 5-year old son, Asher, and infant daughter, Aria.

Sylvia Phee, B.Sc. (Hons)

Originally from Montreal, Sylvia joined the Enns Investment Management Group in 1994. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours as well as multiple industry designations.

Sylvia is qualified to provide advice to clients on the full range of investment, insurance, and wealth management needs offered by RBC Dominion Securities. She also oversees day-to-day account maintenance, trading, transactions, and general administration. Sylvia stands out in particular for her detailed understanding of client accounts and her communication style, both of which clients appreciate greatly.

In between driving their kids to soccer and swimming, Sylvia and her husband Dan are involved members of their community and have worked on several fund-raising projects for local hospitals.

Daniel was born and raised in Ottawa and has several years experience in the financial industry. His strong interest in investing let him to complete a B.B.A in finance. He also holds several industry designations.

 

Daniel's passion for proper planning and an ordered financial life give him a unique set of skills to offer clients. His demonstrated passion for helping others is quickly apparent in his client-centered approach.

Daniel is very family-oriented; he lives in Riverside South with his wife, Ashley, and their dog, Duke. He is an avid sportsman and enjoys golf in particular, as well as hockey and fishing and outdoor endeavors. Daniel volunteers time in a few different capacities, mainly through his local church.

Chris Leslie

Chris is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) with over 25 years of experience in financial services. He holds his Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting) from Carleton University.

Chris joined a major international public accounting firm upon graduation from university where he remained for 5 years. Chris began his career in wealth management services as an investment advisor in 1997 providing clients with investment management, financial planning and insurance solutions. Prior to joining RBC Chris was a financial planning specialist with a major Canadian insurance provider. Chris utilizes his experience as a Chartered Accountant and investment advisor to provide comprehensive financial planning services to professionals, business owners and other high net worth clients.

Joseph Power is a valuable member of our team, helping our clients create and preserve their wealth.

Joseph graduated from Carleton University in 1988 and from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 1991. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1993. He is an Associate Member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Ontario and a Member of the Carleton County Law Association. Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, he practiced estate planning in private and served as Will & Estate Consultant with Royal Trust Corporation.
