2023 is upon us. Let’s welcome a new year by tapping into the wisdom of a community of peers in this second part of my 3-parter curating fun, frank advice from self-made millionaires.

I have been podcasting for over 4.5 years, and, on my podcast, “I’m a Millionaire! So, now what?”, at the end of each interview, I ask my guests to share with me one piece of “Fun, frank advice” for the Self-Made Nation. They always deliver wonderful wisdom.

As we navigate a backdrop of a recession, let’s focus today on overcoming fears, and getting really clear on ourselves and our strengths.

Nick Legault said:  “Just be who you are, and work on yourself.”

Brennan Davis said:  “I am someone who is Gen Z, who grew up with technology my entire childhood, and the best advice that I would give is deleting social media will help you immediately focus on yourself.”

Andrea Chase said:  “I think that we as entrepreneurs let people get into our heads and that can really affect the way we proceed in our business and how we feel about things, especially when we're dealing with hurdles. My advice would be to make sure your desire to achieve whatever it is your goal, your mission, should be greater than your desire for everyone to see your vision.”

Kim Dixon said:  “No matter where you are, who you're with, or what you're doing, there is always something positive that you can learn.”

Albert Aguilar said:  “The less commitments you have in life, the less you have to lose, the more you should be willing to start a business and go all in. I am 23 years old. I´m going all in on all my businesses and I have no plan B.”

Dan Dore said:  “Never stop pushing. Because it's boring. Life is meant to be lived.”

Angela Grant Saunders said:   “Be open to things. Sometimes I get emotional. It's awesome. I love it. Because it's real and it's visceral.”

Mark Saunders said:  “One thing that we can do to inspire our community is pushing boundaries.”

Mireille Faucon said:  “Don't be afraid to ask for help. Don't be afraid to look for that resource. Look for that support system, or just mention to someone that you're struggling.”

Hilda Gan said:   “Never underestimate the power of creating opportunities for staff to Team Build. I know that's really hard in this remote environment, but I think you can apply it remotely.”

Nita Tandon said:    “For someone new starting out, and for a lot of young people, this is what I say: keep your business and your personal life separate.”
