Our investment process

The investment process is a component of the larger net worth plan created in the Moffat Wealth Management Program. This approach is made unique by its detail and the integration of several essential elements. It aims to consistently achieve net worth growth over the long term. The investment process also contains a thorough analysis of your current financial situation, your goals and objectives and any inconsistencies or variances.

The creation of an Investment Policy Statement ("IPS") is a written document that outlines your personal goals, objectives and comfort level with risk. It specifically sets the guidelines, rules and benchmarks for asset allocation and investment selection. This drives the development of an overall investment plan for the household, and the use of various investment accounts (RRSPs TFSAs RESPs, holdco's, trusts, joint accounts, etc.) for holding certain investments in the most tax-efficient manner. The security selection consistently adheres to the parameters set in the IPS.

Through our partners at RBC Wealth Management, we also design a fully personalized financial plan for each client. The financial plan provides the basis for evaluating the annual saving and investing habits. Essentially, we use it to measure your progress and assess whether you are on track to your goals, or if adjustments need to be made. Furthermore, the financial plan aids in the efficient succession of assets to the next generation or charitable beneficiaries. The end result is a carefully planned wealth strategy that helps you effectively manage wealth at each stage of life. It ensures consistency, better organization and efficiency.
