Our story is our essence, and everyone’s story is unique. I enjoy listening to and learning about lives lived and stories told. Over the years I have built strong relationships based on listening, and forming a foundation of understanding and trust. These form the cornerstones of my relationships with all of my clients, whether they are families or organizations.
I entered the investment industry in 1991 with a major Canadian bank-owned firm. Along the way that firm offered me the opportunity to work in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and later in Panama, working with clients located around the world. While overseas I learned about various cross border structures, and investment solutions to help clients having a footprint in multiple jurisdictions. During this time I also earned my Chartered Investment Manager designation, which, along with my years of experience, qualifies me to be a Portfolio Manager.
I was born in Panama, and lived in many countries before immigrating to Canada (on an Irish passport). As a child I learned Spanish, which I still speak fluently, and enough French to be understood. In my free time I enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle with my wife and son. My wife and I enjoy trail running, and bike riding. When possible we also enjoy sailing, or just going to the beach. But most of our time is currently spent watching our teenaged son play soccer, though our black lab would much rather we directed our attention more toward her.
