We are trying something different this week. I’ve been working on various communications with clients, and this is our inaugural “Video” of Kingsmill Investment Miscellanea: we call this V-KIM.
It’s a short video discussing the upcoming US election, and what we should be doing in advance, or after depending on who wins. We have fielded a lot of calls on over the last few weeks.
The first thing is that it is too close to tell, based on pundits, and polls. Recall the Bush v Gore election in 2000: the result hinged on a few thousand votes: remember those “hanging chads” in Florida. Close elections in the US aren’t unprecedented.
Over the long-term however, the US economy and the underlying market will do well, regardless of who wins, for a whole bunch of reasons that I go through in the video:
