With his experience, knowledge and training, Leo is exceptionally qualified to help individuals, families, and business owners build, manage and protect intergenerational wealth.
Born and raised in the foothills of the Rockies in southern Alberta, Leo graduated from Trinity Western College in Langley, B.C. Following graduation, he started his financial services career in Calgary with a leading Canadian bank, holding progressively more senior management positions. In recognition of his success, Leo was given the opportunity to establish a private banking office in Fredericton, where he moved with his family.
Since moving to Fredericton, Leo has specialized in working with clients with more complex financial, investment and wealth management needs. His professional roles have included Branch Manager for Bank of Montreal, Royal Trust and RBC Royal Bank.
In 1999, Leo decided to go into practice as a professional wealth advisor, starting with a prominent investment firm, where he rose to Vice President. In 2012, he moved his practice to RBC Dominion Securities, Canada's leading wealth management firm, to further build on the services he is able to provide to his growing clientele.
A strong believer in ongoing professional development, Leo has completed numerous industry-related designations including the advanced Certified International Wealth Manager (CWIM) designation. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), which is the highest designation an investment professional can achieve in Canada. He has also achieved the accreditation of Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA), which helps address the specific issues faced by clients as they age, or who are seniors.
On a personal note, Leo is married to a wonderful partner, Kathleen, and together they have raised five children. Being involved in the community has always been a priority for Leo and his family, and they have been involved in various amateur sports, community groups and school associations. The groups they have supported include Junior Achievement, Holy Family Parish, YMCA Endowment Board, Pastoral Care Education Foundation, Scouts Canada, the District Education Council of School District 18, and Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation, where Leo was a past Chairman.
