Finding a new path forward in these new times

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the world we live in has undergone massive changes impacting the way we live. As we work towards a new normal in our daily routine, there is also a need to develop online processes to manage your finances. In-person meetings with your Investment Advisor have been replaced by telephone and web conference meetings allowing you to stay as connected as ever. However, this is the time to take advantage of some of the tools that RBC Dominion Securities have readily available.

Web Conference Meetings: Web Conference Meetings have replaced in-person meetings. Your investment advisor will be able to share documents and highlight points as if the meeting was taken place in-person.

DS Online: This is a secure and convenient way to access your RBC Dominion Securities accounts including account statements, tax slips and trade confirmation. Secured communication can be made with your Investment Advisor in this portal. If you have not enrolled yet, go to  www.rbcds.com, click on Sign In at the top right, then click on 'First Time Sign In' and follow the steps.

Fund transfers and payments: During these times, it has become less convenient to physically go to bank branches to move money between accounts as we are all in the effort to limit the spread of the virus. You can easily and safely move money between your bank and investment accounts online through a simple set-up using electronic funds transfer. Please speak with us to more information on how to set this up.

RBC Online Banking: If you have RBC Royal Bank account as well, this online platform gives you access to both your RBC Dominion Securities and RBC Bank accounts in a consolidated view. Furthermore, this is a convenient way to access your accounts, pay bills and transfer funds. If you have not enrolled yet, go to  www.rbc.com, click on 'Sign In' at the top right, then 'Enrol Now' and follow the steps.

It is important to take advantage of these tools as COVID-19 has given all of us an opportunity to learn new ways of managing our daily lives. Using these tools is important but you still need to remain vigilant and aware of COVID-19-related cyber and phone scams. There have been scams where cybercriminals send messages asking you to download a file or click on a link to provide personal information like account passwords. When in doubt, it is always best to ignore these messages and call your Investment Advisor to verify the validity of the message. You can also learn more ways to protect yourself at RBC's cyber security webpage

Whether you consider yourself a beginner or expert in technology, you will find all the tools that RBC DS has to offer will provide you with a more convenient and secure approach of managing your finances during these times.
