Private Investment Management offers you:

My investment experience
I have been working in the financial industry since 1994. I started my career in banking with one of Canada's major chartered banks, as a banker. Then, in 2002, I obtained my licence as an investment advisor and joined RBC Dominion Securities’ team of investment advisors in the Laval office. Subsequently, in 2005, I obtained my discretionary portfolio manager licence.

Note about my management style: As a Private Portfolio Manager, my style is based on the belief that the buying price is the first element to consider in adding a stock to a portfolio. The goal is to hold the best companies that can offer a bargain due to their activity sector, financial results that are less favourable than anticipated, stock markets that have inflated the problem that the company faces, etc. So, I believe that these stocks are good investments and will eventually yield favourable results.

Portfolio composition: U.S. or Canadian dividend investment portfolios can generate high dividend income and have a high long-term capital growth potential. Portfolios have a composition of around 35-40 Canadian and U.S. stocks.

Stock selection process: In the active management of the portfolio, my priority as a manager is risk management. Protecting the initial capital is a priority in each investment decision. I use weighted stocks in four main sectors. Then, depending on market fluctuations, I make use of an effective sector rotation to take advantage of bargains. Stocks for the portfolio are mainly selected in collaboration with RBC Wealth Management’s Portfolio Advisory Group.

Portfolio diversification: For portfolios worth more than $5 million, I am also able to bring in external managers on a discretionary basis to diversify management styles and increase portfolio diversification. For instance, currently, external managers are used for U.S. growth mandates and also for the selection of international dividend stocks.

By choosing Francis Couillard’s Private Investment Management, you are opting for a portfolio manager whose priority is to protect your wealth, with an approach based on dividends and optimal portfolio diversification to profit from the financial markets.
