Running Reflections: Biographies and beverages

Lately, I’ve been diving into the world of biographies through audio versions. Two have particularly resonated with me.

Matthew Perry's "Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing" is a memoir that deeply struck a chord. It's a candid look at his struggles with alcohol and opioid addiction, revealing a side of vulnerability and strength.

Contrasting this, I listened to Demi Moore's "Inside Out". Her journey, interspersed with sobriety, spirituality, and challenges with prescription and illicit drugs, offers a different perspective.

Their stories made me think more mindfully throughout the holiday season of social gatherings and the pressures around alcohol consumption. I’m pleased to see we live in a time where more and more people are recognizing how important it is to respect everyone's choices regarding sobriety.

As we moved through the festive season, mindfulness around these choices helped foster a spirit of true friendship and fellowship. It wasn't about what was in our glasses, but the company we shared that made those moments special.

As we head deeper into 2024, Let's carry this understanding forward, celebrating and supporting each other's choices throughout the year.

Speaking of beverages!!! (‘50 Coffees’ Invitation)

Have you heard about my 50 coffees effort? As gratitude for turning 50 in 2023, I’ve been enjoying an exciting challenge, and I'd be thrilled to have you on board I will be having a series of 50 coffee dates – and guess what? One of those dates could be reserved just for you! Let's catch up, enjoy some coffee, and you can help me continue to celebrate in style.

I'm excited to share that I'll be making a $20 donation to an incredible charity for each coffee date. With a total of $1,000 set aside, I invite you to match my contribution with your own $20 donation.

Together, we can make a real impact!

If you’d like to join me for a coffee, drop me an email or a DM on LinkedIn, and let's coordinate our coffee connection. Oh, and don't forget to share your charity of choice – let's make our coffee dates count!

TTFN, Colleen
