Asking the Right Questions

As we approach the end of March and the start of Spring, I’d like to focus on something we learned in the Double to Sell workshop with Cameron Herold the business guru and “CEO Whisperer.”

Do people screw up on purpose?

Nope.

They don’t want to make a mistake.

A true leader always looks for the broken system that allowed a problem to happen.

This is based on Michael Gerber’s idea that people don’t fail. Systems fail.

Cameron brings up an example of a Starbucks sign with the B not working.

Star ucks.

So, the CEO of Starbucks at the time called Cameron’s mentor who was being groomed to be second-in-command and asked: “Why is the letter B not working?”

And the second-in-command said: “I don’t care why the letter B is not working. That’s not a leadership question.”

Can you just imagine saying that to your boss?! That guy’s got guts… So, boss-man replied: “Well, what is the leadership question?”

And you know you’re going to want to listen to this episode to find out.

You’ll discover the questions a leader should be asking when things go wrong.

And if you are asking the right questions.

If you’d like to reach out to share some of the questions you’re asking to create your systems and execute your strategies, I’d love to hear from you. You can drop me a line here.

And if you’d like to attend my next Elevated Conversations event (coming up in April), you can apply here.
