While we’re not quite there yet – New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day 2021 – we’re so close I can almost taste it! Give yourselves a big old pat on the back – you deserve it.

Think about it - we got through what for the majority of us has been the worst year in living memory.

But in what can only be described as a medical miracle (though science driven, of course, because YAY science!) vaccines are already in arms, and we can, with confidence, begin to look forward to better days ahead.

Your Vivid Vision Has Never Been More Important

After the “year of Covid-19” and the huge impact crater it left on our economy, nothing could be more important than to stop, regroup, review, and create your vivid vision for 2021 and beyond.

Aim to wring as much value out of your years of hard work as you possibly can. Fix whatever ended up broken after this difficult 12 months. And start planning for that cash-rich exit strategy TODAY.

Hence why on this episode “I’m a Millionaire! So Now What?” I wanted to revisit Double to Sell, my virtual workshop for business owners looking for a cash rich exit in the next three, five to 10 years. I partnered with the one and only Cameron Herold, top business consultant and author of “Double Double: How to Double Your Revenue and Profits in Three Years,” among many other books.

He's touched 1000s of businesses indirectly with his work and has used the “vivid vision” concept to drive incredible business outcomes.

See Your Vivid Vision as a Jigsaw Puzzle

We’ve all done jigsaw puzzles at one point in our lives. You dump all those intricately cut (and awkwardly shaped!) puzzle pieces on to the table – and you get started, right?

NO! You. Look. At. The. Picture.

You set up the front of the box, where you can easily see it – and then you determine your own particular strategy that will best solve this beast. And nine times out of ten – we will all do one thing first.

Start with the FOUR CORNERS.

Then we find all the straight-sided pieces and begin building the puzzle’s framework. THEN we fill in the middle bits – because even that expanse of blue sky is easier once you have the framework started.

Now, think of this in relation to your future business goals.

  • Get the pieces organized.
  • Start with the four corners.
  • Use your Vivid Vision for the future to map out the framework.
  • Build out the sides.
  • Fill in the centre.

Your Vivid Vision document - what your company will look like, feel like, and act like in three years – should end up being four or five written pages, clearly mapped out.

Then, you give a copy of this to every employee, to every supplier, to your customers, your potential customers. You have your current employees read it every quarter.

What begins to happen? This: everybody can now see the future and start functioning and making decisions in such a way as to make that future come true. They will have a part in making every sentence of your vivid vision come true.

To End…

2020 was a wake-up call. Unexpected events that have a direct and lasting impact on your business, can happen anytime, anywhere. Having a vivid vision in place, mapping out your future as well as your eventual exit strategy, will help you get through to the other side in one piece. And while three, five, 10 years down the road feels like a long time, as this year has shown us (even with all the chaos and calamity it flew by!) it’s not.

For 2021, shake yourselves out, regroup and rebuild if need be. But do it strategically and with a clear and vivid vision for what you want your future to be.

Have a listen to the podcast – I’m flying solo again this week and get into much more detail about the importance of having a clearly mapped out vivid vision.
