Curious about Cannabis: Part 2

Today, Cannabis becomes legal in Canada.

It’s been available legally in this country as a medical treatment option for 10 years.

I admit that up until this year, I’ve had a holier-than-thou attitude about marijuana. I was skeptical, wondering if some medical prescriptions were issued as a back-door way of accessing pot for ‘fun”. I found it tough to keep an open mind when clients asked me about adding ‘pot stocks’ to their portfolios.

I know where my negative bias comes from. I lost my 24-year-old brother to suicide in 2004 and learned along the way that he got lost in the world of self-medicating his mental unwellness with alcohol and drugs – including marijuana.

But legalization is here, and I feel a strong responsibility to understand more about the product and the industry. I figured I’m not alone in this, so I’m sharing my learning along the way.

I sought out four experts working in and around the cannabis industry, and invited them to be interviewed on my podcast, I’m a Millionaire… So Now What? (listen & subscribe here). I asked them the kind of questions any Canadian might have – many of which may be on your mind, especially today.
