Confronting the Rapid Pace of Change

We’ve all heard the phrase “The only thing that is constant is change,” attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.

Today, I believe we’re seeing change that is not only constant, but also coming at us at a constantly accelerating rate.

The rapid pace of change is what inspired me to start my series Elevated Conversations -- Exploring Finance, Technology, and Future Trends in Business and Society.

The goal of Elevated Conversations is to bring together smart investors, entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals to share their knowledge about the significant innovation and disruptions they see affecting the way we live and do business every day.

Originally, Elevated Conversations was limited to intimate, invitation-only, dinner event held 4 times/year.

Now, with a weekly blog (subscribe here) and my new podcast I’m a Millionaire… So Now What? (listen & subscribe here) I’m able to give these Elevated Conversations a much wider platform.

Through previous posts, you’ve already heard about some of the Elevated Conversations we’re having… Curious About Cannabis and What Does Blockchain Block?

But there’s still so much change to face, and growing curiosity about the topics we’re talking about.

In next week’s post – which I’ll share on the day Cannabis becomes legal in Canada – we’ll hear from people working in the industry about how they see decriminalization changing our lives. Make sure you watch for it – lots of information in that one!

One of the experts I’ve consulted about Cannabis is Trina Fraser, co-managing partner and lawyer at Brazeau Seller in Ottawa, ON. Her practice area of expertise is cannabis law, including landlord/tenant rights, retail sales, law vs enforcement, US cross border implications and more.

Trina is our guest speaker at the next LIVE Elevated Conversations dinner on October 24th, in Ottawa. And there’s still room for you to join us!

We’ve chosen a fine establishment along Preston Street; we’ll confirm the location once you’ve purchased your ticket to the event.

To apply for your opportunity to attend this event or other upcoming LIVE Elevated Conversations dinners email me at colleen.campbell@rbc.com.

And when it comes to more Elevated Conversations, what would you be interested in learning about?  Are you an expert in a field or industry that’s set to revolutionize our world? Let me know. Email us here and let’s start a conversation.
