Annually since 2005, spearheaded by my father, Dan O’Connell, my family has been organized Fiddler’s Friends. Fiddler’s Friends is a traditional fiddle ‘focused’ music concert showcasing Danny O’Connell Memorial award recipients. It is both a fundraiser for the Danny O'Connell Memorial Fund which is administered by The Community Foundation of Ottawa and a day to celebrate Danny’s memory.
You are invited to join us on Sunday, May 6, 2018 for some toe tapping music and good old fashion fun.
Doors open at 12:30 with The Barley Shakers followed by opening remarks at 1 pm. This year’s line-up includes award recipients Ethan Wall, Michaela Mullan, Tessa Bangs, and Kyle Burghout. The Fiddler’s Friends – Matt Pepin, Terri-Lynn Mahusky, and Kyle Felhaver along with pianist, John Mitchell. Special guest performances from Bruce Strathearn, Cindy Thompson with the group, The Space Between, all accompanied by Jim Hunter on piano. (Please note: Line-up is subject to change without notice).
