Happy Friday from BMWM!

That’s a Wrap!  One more tax season out of the way for your personal tax returns.  If you are a business owner, you may still be working on that.  If you need anything, please give us a call as we are always happy to help.  We have spent considerable time this week talking to your accountants and planning for the recent budget changes.  If you have any questions regarding the new Federal Budget and how the increased capital gains inclusion rate might impact you, please give us a call.  For many of you, we should be able to avoid the higher taxes with some good planning strategies.  Cottages, trusts, and corporations will require a little more attention.

The Current Account (click here to read) covers the Federal Reserve leaving interest rates unchanged and addressing inflation concerns, Canada’s divorce rate being at its lowest in 50 years, constraints at the Port of Vancouver possibly denting TMX oil exports, and scientists developing a plastic that can “self-destruct”.

Taylor’s word of the week is prognosticate, meaning “to forecast or predict something from present indications or signs”. For example, a fortune teller can attempt to prognosticate someone’s future, but it is nearly impossible.

Have a great weekend,

Brenda, Betina, Matty, and Taylor
