Senior Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor
What I do
Vince leads Boschman Wealth Partners. As the founder, senior portfolio manager, and wealth advisor of our practice, Vince has spent the last 25 years giving his clients every financial advantage through highly informed and strategically formulated advice. To design their individual wealth Blueprints, Vince gets to know his clients deeply so he can incorporate every relevant wealth management building block on their behalves. “I like being able to make a difference,” says Vince, “especially removing stress and uncertainty from clients’ lives.” From a big-picture vantage point, Vince also directs our investment strategy and our team.
Why I’m passionate about my work
Vince has always been one to value the bigger picture, with a razor-sharp focus on ways to advance. “From a young age, I knew I wanted to give myself every advantage,” he says. In his early teens, Vince saw an ad for RRSPs – his first glimpse of wealth management – and so began an intensive financial self-education. “The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn,” says Vince, who went on to study finance at the University of Manitoba and has since devoted himself to helping his clients advance financially.
What makes me qualified to do what I do
Vince is a Professional Financial Planner (PFP) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), as well as a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) – a distinction reserved for an exclusive group of financial professionals who demonstrate unparalleled commitment, leadership, and integrity. He is licensed to offer discretionary portfolio management and advise on options, derivatives, and life insurance. But learning is never done for Vince; he complements his depth of industry knowledge every day by waking up bright and early to study the markets – always keeping a couple of steps ahead for his clients.
What else I’m passionate about
Giving back to the community is important to Vince. Having supported many local charitable causes over the years, he now focuses his time as a board member of the Robb Nash Project, an organization focused on supporting mental health in teens. This work has earned him the Honour 150 award, which recognizes Manitobans who give back to and enrich the community.
My life outside of work
In his off hours, Vince enjoys skiing, golfing, and spending time at the lake with his family – Stacey, his wife, and their two children, Madison and Carter.
Associate Wealth & Investment Advisor
As an associate wealth and investment advisor, Karl guides everyday Manitobans through our disciplined Blueprint process. His down-to-earth approach always starts from where the family is currently at, and focuses on simplifying complex concepts and terms for them. Karl’s clients appreciate his approachable and trustworthy demeanor as much as his reassuring and professional advice.
One to find a way to connect with everyone he meets, Karl is a bonafide people person. “It’s rewarding to develop a plan for people where I can make sure everything continues to move forward for them,” says Karl, a former financial planner, who is pleased to say he has remained in the position to offer his clients confidence since he came to Boschman Wealth Partners in 2015. “We work hard, just like our clients. We made a commitment to people, and it’s one we take very seriously,” says Karl, who makes great efforts to respond to his clients within hours or less to deliver the utmost peace of mind.
A graduate of the University of Manitoba’s economics department, Karl entered the industry in 2006, joining RBC Dominion Securities as a financial planner when people needed one most of all: in the uncertainty of the 2008 crisis. In his current role, Karl draws on the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
When he’s not working, Karl spends as much time as he can with his two young kids, Paige and Kaden. He and his wife, Debbie, love to entertain family and friends. Karl also enjoys golfing, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time at the family cottage.
Chris is the relationship manager for Boschman Wealth Partners’ most financially savvy clients and those with in-depth questions about the economy. He is also an integral influence on our team’s investment decisions. Chris is well regarded by our clients for his prompt and informed responses as much as for his clear and genuine care for their well-being. “Chris is so attuned to our clients that he literally saved a client's life while she was having a stroke,” says Vince, explaining that Chris noticed something was off in the client’s voice when speaking to her on the phone and sprang to action. “I’ve never met someone this conscientious,” says Vince.
Growing up in rural Manitoba meant long school bus rides for Chris. It may well have been the scenery on these rides that inspired Chris’s ambitions of becoming a conservation officer, but it was also on the bus that Chris got his introduction to the stock market: “I was in Grade 8 or 9 when Black Monday happened,” recalls Chris, who spent that day’s 30-minute journey listening to the radio. “How did that happen?” Chris wanted to know, and this curiosity took permanent hold of him. By the time he made it to school that day, Chris’s interests had shifted from forestry to economics indefinitely.
Chris leverages expertise afforded to him by some of the most esteemed designations in our industry, including the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Derivative Market Specialist (DMS), and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations. Prior to entering the world of wealth management in 1999, Chris studied business administration at Red River College and economics at the University of Winnipeg.
In his off hours, Chris enjoys spending time with his family – he has two kids, Grayson and Lexah – especially outdoors, camping or ice fishing. He also likes to keep active; a former martial artist, Chris now prefers CrossFit. He also gives his time toward Grayson and Lexah’s hockey teams, as well as various charity events, whenever he can.
