Senior Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor
“Our job is to take our clients’ lives from good to great,” says Bruce. “They bring us the puzzle pieces – and it’s through our expertise that we’re able to help them put it all together.” Led by a desire to help others and make a meaningful impact, Bruce first joined RBC in 1990, shortly after graduating with a diploma in Business Administration from the Saskatchewan Technical Institute. From there, he quickly worked his way up through the ranks, holding the positions of personal banking representative, loans officer, and senior loans officer before becoming an assistant branch manager, where he earned the prestigious RBC Leo Award for excellence in customer service. In 1996, Bruce moved to Moose Jaw with his family to found Willms Private Wealth Management Group and has been proudly serving individuals, families, and businesses across our community ever since. Today, Bruce leverages his decades of experience and deep understanding of the markets to offer clients guidance on investment management, wealth preservation, multigenerational planning, and more. As senior portfolio manager and wealth advisor, he is part of a select group of advisors able to offer discretionary portfolio management services – a unique benefit that allows him to take advantage of timely investment opportunities on behalf of our clients. His goal, above all else, is to help simplify the complexities of wealth management for clients and set them on the right path toward long-term success. Bruce recognizes the immense amount of trust clients place in our team, and is proud to serve as a fiduciary, ensuring that he is acting in our clients’ best interests at all times. Dedicated to continuous learning and development, Bruce holds several top industry designations, including Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM). He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), the highest honour in Canadian financial services. When not at work, Bruce enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, and skiing. Bruce and his wife, Maria, are the proud parents to two adult sons, Tyson and Brandon. Tyson and his spouse, Lanae, have now made Bruce a proud grandfather as well.
