A graduate of University of Western Ontario, Tim has over 20 years in the financial services industry and has obtained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations.

Having joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2010, he has enjoyed utilizing the vast resources and expertise that Canada's largest wealth management firm has to offer. Tim's extensive experience has taught him that proper financial planning is the key to success for his clients.

With this in mind, Tim works closely with his team of experts, to strategically plan your investment portfolio to work in harmony with your detailed financial plan. Emphasis is placed on risk management, tax efficiency and capital preservation.

Tim and his wife, Laura, enjoy raising their children in Ontario's playground and in his free time, Tim enjoys the many winter and summer sports that Collingwood has to offer.

Sarah graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia with a Business degree majoring in Finance. After graduation Sarah joined RBC Dominion Securities in Toronto as an Associate and spent six years working on Bay Street.

Subsequently, Sarah made the move north to Collingwood and joined Tim's team in June 2013. She has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) and is currently working towards her CIM.

Sarah plays an integral role in the management of client requests and the administrative needs of our group and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

Recently married, outside of the office Sarah enjoys her lifestyle in Collingwood. She is a yoga enthusiast and spends her free time skiing, biking and golfing.

Chris Machan
Financial Planner

Chris graduated with a business Management – Financial Services diploma prior to joining the financial services industry in 2003. He has successfully earned the designations of Certified Financial planner (CFP) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA). Chris is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).

Prior to joining RBC dominion Securities, Chris worked as a Banking Officer with a Canadian chartered bank as well as a Financial Advisor with a large wealth management firm. His experience includes the provision of financial planning services to clients, encompassing credit, investment, retirement planning, tax planning and estate planning advice.

As part of The Heacock Group, Chris believes that financial planning is extremely valuable in helping clients achieve their goals for overall long-term financial wellbeing. Chris works with Tim in preparing and presenting your comprehensive financial plan.

Connie M. Freitas, B.A., LL.B
Will & Estate Consultant

Connie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1989 and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1992. She was called to the Toronto bar in 1992.

Prior to joining RBC, Connie practiced law for 18 years, covering the areas of corporate/commercial law, real estate, wills, trusts and estates. Connie advised her owner-manager clients on such issues as purchases and sales of businesses, shareholder agreements, corporate reorganizations, and will and estate planning.

Connie works closely with Tim to provide you with information on structuring your estate in an efficient and tax-effective manner. Following your consultation with us, we will provide you with a report outlining various estate planning issues for you to explore in more detail with your own accountant or lawyer.
