Cathie Brayley and Richard Weiland, Partner Tax Consultants of Clark Wilson, discussed the proposed legislative tax changes with a specific focus on the impacts to:
  • Income splitting
  • Taxation of passive investment income inside private corporations/holding companies
  • Implications to capital gains exemptions in business sales (and elimination of the multiplication of the capital gains exemption)
  • Converting a Private Corporation’s regular income into capital gains

Some stops included: Powell Street Brewing Co., Coal Harbour Brewing Co., and Parallel 49 Brewing Co.. Snacks and good company were enjoyed along the way!
