Block the Bus

We were thrilled to participate in the Block the Bus project that helps students start the school year off right. Supporting SPANL by providing essential back-to-school supplies and donations means empowering the next generation to succeed.

The Gathering Place

Teamwork in action!
Over the course of 3 days, our branch had the incredible opportunity to volunteer again at The Gathering Place. It was a great experience of making a difference and giving back to our community. It was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together with a common purpose.

Bowl for Kids' Sake

On February 28, 2024 we joined our RBC colleagues for a fun afternoon of bowling in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Newfoundland.
Let’s just say we won’t be quitting our day jobs to join a league anytime soon, but it was all good fun and for a great cause!

Coldest Night of the Year

The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

On February 24, 2024, members of our St. John's office joined our RBC colleagues for a walk in support of Choices for Youth.

Choices for Youth is a professional services, youth-focused, charitable organization that creates spaces and conversations, and operates programs and social enterprises to help vulnerable youth secure stable housing, employment, and education while improving health and family stability.

Last year, over 37,000 walkers across Canada joined this event raising just under $13.1 million dollars - it's Canada's National Walk for Homelessness.

Supporting our community

At the St. John’s branch we are commitment to giving back to our community and creating a positive impact.
We had the opportunity to sponsor a family this holiday season through SPANL and deliver items on their wish list.
The Single Parent Association of Newfoundland & Labrador was founded in 1987. Their objective is to provide supports for single parents, enabling them to regain control over their lives for the empowerment of themselves and their children.

Supporting our community

We had the privilege of supporting the Chalker Place Neighborhood Community Centre who had an urgent need for children’s hats and mitts.

Susan Kielley met with the Community Director, Nikita Ryall earlier this month at the Centre and was genuinely impressed with the Centre and her enthusiasm. The demographics of this neighborhood has changed over recent years with the arrival of many new Canadian families. We are proud to support our growing community in this time of need.

The Race for The Kids

On October 14th, our RBC Dominion Securities St. John’s team did the Race For The Kids as a 2 stage event.
Our 1st stage involved a walk through the fog in downtown St. John’s. The 2nd stage involved a beautiful fall hike through Bowring Park.
Thanks to all of our team and supporters who helped raise funds for children’s mental health initiatives with the Janeway Foundation.

What started as a single Race in New York in 2009, RBC Race for the Kids has grown into a series of 25+ family fun races that take place around the world. More than 360,000 participants have raised over $82 million CAD for youth charities across the globe

A Special Evening with David Chilton

September 13th, 2023 was truly remarkable here in St. John’s!
We had the honor of hosting David Chilton, “The Wealthy Barber” as our guest speaker, and his insights were nothing short of inspiring. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable evening!
