Michael is a seasoned professional over 28 years in the wealth management business. Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities in 2011, he spent 12 years of his career as a senior financial consultant with MD Management Ltd., an investment advisory firm for physicians of the Canadian Medical Association.
Passionate about his job, Michael enjoys assisting his clients with the complexities of wealth management and making it simple and easy to understand. After listening to his client's wishes and goals, he likes to share his financial planning solutions with them, and is very transparent with his own personal investing.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Michael immigrated with his family at the age of one to London, Ontario. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, he moved to Vancouver in 1998, to further pursue his financial career. Throughout his work, Michael received a number of awards and recognition as an individual who consistently goes above and beyond to create a remarkable difference for his clients and fellow colleagues.
Striving to maintain wealth management excellence in education and knowledge, Michael achieved several professional financial designations, such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), and the prestigious Fellow Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), which represents the highest standard in the financial services industry for education, expertise, experience and ethics.
Michael is married to his wife, Kyoko, and they have three little girls. They enjoy traveling and experiencing new sights, history, culture, and food. Michael is also a proud numismatist. He has learnt to appreciate Canada's illustrious history while collecting and studying Canadian coins and paper money. He enjoys holding a piece of history in his hands.
