Michael is an industry veteran with over 20+ years in the wealth management business. Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities in 2011, he spent 12 years of his career as a senior financial consultant with MD Management Ltd., an investment advisory firm of the Canadian Medical Association, serving the needs of physicians and their families.
Always striving to maintain wealth management excellence in education and knowledge, Michael achieved several professional financial designations, such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), and the prestigious Fellow Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), which represents the highest standard in the financial services industry for education, expertise, ethics and experience. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Michael immigrated with his family at the age of one to London, Ontario. In 1998, he moved to Vancouver, BC, to further pursue his career in wealth management. Throughout his work, Michael received a number of awards and recognition as an individual who consistently goes above and beyond to create a remarkable difference to his clients and fellow colleagues.
Michael has been a numismatist for over 35 years, proudly collecting Canadian coins and paper money. From this hobby, he has learnt to appreciate Canada’s unique and illustrious history, while studying and collecting money from various years. He enjoys holding a piece of history in his hands.
Passionate about his job, Michael enjoys very much assisting his clients with the complexities of wealth management and making it simple and easy to understand. After listening to his clients’ dreams and goals, he likes to share his investment and financial planning solutions with them and is very transparent with his own personal investing.
Michael is married to his wife Kyoko, and together, they have three little girls. Having been to Japan and Hawaii many times, the family enjoys traveling and experiencing new sights, history, culture and food.
