Tim has called Vancouver Island home since 1980 and settled in Victoria, B.C., in 1985, where he enjoys the west coast lifestyle with his wife, two sons, extended family and friends. Tim coaches youth soccer, is an avid cyclist and loves to walk his dog Sam.
As a Senior Trust Advisor, Catharine Turner serves clients throughout British Columbia in the Vancouver office. Catharine is well known within the Estate and Trust industry in the British Columbia region. She has held many client facing roles focused on business development as well as servicing complex accounts of domestic and international high net worth families during her roles as an Estate and Trust Advisor, Senior Advisor and Private Banker.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia, Catharine has continued to deepen her knowledge and expertise with key industry designations such as the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and the Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations.
Catharine works with individuals, families, and businesses providing customized estate, trust and incapacity solutions. Whether it is helping someone to settle an estate, establishing a trust to ensure the successful transfer of family assets, or arranging to assist with the administration and responsibilities for a Power of Attorney, Catharine can help.

Yat-Sze Lo, CPA, CA, CFP
Vice President and Financial Planning Specialist, Family Office Services, RBC Wealth Management
Coming from one of the major global accounting firms, Yat-Sze brings a broad range of experience to her role as Vice President, Financial Planning Specialist.
In her previous role, she spent many years working with private companies, high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and partnerships. Her work included tax minimization through appropriate tax planning (corporate and personal, including estate planning) as well as corporate restructuring.
Yat-Sze is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She completed her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of British Columbia and has completed all three levels of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Course. She has also completed the Advanced Tax Course for Owner-Managed Businesses.
As a Financial Planning Specialist, Yat-Sze’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting your Compass Financial Plan and to identify and assess any related financial and tax planning concerns you might have.
Gali Gelbart, B.Sc., LL.B, TEP

Gali obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Victoria in 2000, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of British Columbia in 2005. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2006.
Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, Gali practiced law in both Vancouver and Victoria, specializing in the areas of Wills and estates, and corporate/ commercial law. She has been a guest speaker for seminars and podcasts on estate law topics, and is a contributor to professional development with the Canadian Bar Association Wills and Estates, and Elder Law sections.
Memberships include the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of Canada. Gali is also a designated Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Christine Knox brings more than 18 years' experience in financial services to her role as Private Banker. Today she provides comprehensive financial management to select clients and their families throughout Vancouver Island.
Her significant career has honed Ms. Knox's ability to serve her clients through all stages of their financial lives. Working with a relatively small client base allows Ms. Knox to act as a true financial partner for her clients and their families. As needed, she collaborates with clients' legal, tax and insurance advisors to develop a strategy and plan to realize their personal and financial goals.
Ms. Knox's approach is to deliver a sophisticated banking experience and tailored suite of services that is customized to the unique needs of each client. In doing so, she designs packages for her clients that include high-end credit solutions, wealth management planning, business succession planning, estate planning and domestic and international trust structures. Ian offers an extensive background in client relationship management to his role as Private Banker. He draws on 27 years of industry experience, consisting of a wide range of Client Advisory, Leadership, and Learning & Development roles through his career.
A graduate of Thompson Rivers University with a Bachelor's of Commerce Degree, Ian has continued to deepen his knowledge and expertise with key industry designations such as the Personal Financial Planner (PFP).
Away from the office, Ian enjoys time with his family. Together with his wife Kristin and their daughter Samantha, Ian enjoys spending time mountain-biking and going on wilderness walks. And as an animal lover he can't resist stopping to say hi to any dog he sees.
