Jon began his career with Price Waterhouse in Calgary, earning his Chartered Accountant designation in 1987. He worked in Toronto in the International Tax Group from 1988 to 1992. He then moved back to Alberta to begin his new position as an Investment Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities. In 2001 he completed the requirements for discretionary investment management as an Associate Portfolio Manager, and was made a Portfolio Manager in 2003.
He is a member of the Alberta and Ontario Chartered Accountants Association, as well as the Canadian Tax Foundation. He maintains his Life and Accident insurance licenses in AB and BC.
Jon is married and has two adult children. They enjoy annual visits to Ottawa and the family cottage near Gracefield, PQ. As well, Jon enjoys camping in the summer and fall at his farm near Unity SK. Active in his local Church, Jon has traveled three times to Bolivia, South America (the last trip was in April 2019) and is a member of the handbell choir.
He enjoys a good game of men’s shinny hockey and skiing in the winter, and enjoys .cycling and bike riding in the summers and fall. Throughout the year, he and his dog Marley make the rounds through their neighbourhood on their daily walks.
