Al Gair, Senior Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor
Originally from the UK, Al grew up in the lower Mainland and obtained an undergraduate degree in Geological Sciences from the University of British Columbia in 1981. Al practiced briefly as an exploration geologist before obtaining his Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and moving into the financial services industry. He began his investment career at McLeod Young Weir (now ScotiaMcLeod) in Toronto in 1987. Outside of work, Al is a competitive athlete, having completed several marathons and ultra-distance cycling events. He commutes by bike year-round from his home in North Vancouver. Other interests include photography, mineralogy, contemporary art and travel.
Igor Opacic, Associate Advisor
Igor has over 10 years of combined experience in the financial services and investment industry. He graduated from the UBC School of Economics and is fully licensed, having completed the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct & Practices Handbook, and Wealth Management Essentials. Igor ensures that the team runs smoothly and that client requests and queries are dealt with quickly and accurately. Trade execution, scheduling, research and managing the documentation processes are among Igor's principal roles. Outside of work, Igor is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He participates in hiking, backpacking, skiing, touring, and fishing.
