Karen is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She obtained her Bachelor of Mathematics and Master of Accounting degrees from the University of Waterloo and has completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax course.
Prior to joining RBC, Karen worked at a leading global accounting firm where she specialized in providing tax advisory services for high-net-worth individuals and private company business owners. She has many years of experience helping clients navigate through personal and corporate tax issues as well as trust and estate planning.
Karen’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting your comprehensive Compass Financial Plan and to identify and assess any related financial planning concerns you may have.
Connie Freitas, BA, LL.B
Vice President and Will & Estate Consultant, Family Office Services, RBC Wealth Management
Connie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1994.
Prior to joining RBC in 2012, Connie practised law for 18 years. As a partner in a mid-sized full-service law firm, her practice was varied and covered the areas of corporate/commercial law, real estate, and Wills, trusts and estates law. In that role, Connie advised her owner-manager clients on a broad range of business and personal needs, from purchases and sales of businesses, to shareholder agreements and corporate reorganizations, to Will and estate planning.
For many years Connie taught the Business Law section of the Bar Admissions Course and was involved with preparing the licensing exams for Ontario lawyers. Throughout her career, Connie has been involved in her broader community, serving on many non-profit boards as well as providing pro bono legal services.
Carol Dalgado, LL.B, LL.M, TEP
Will & Estate Consultant, Family Office Services, RBC Wealth Management
As a Will & Estate Consultant, Carol Dalgado provides comprehensive estate planning services to clients.
Carol graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario and went on to obtain her Master of Laws (Trusts) degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She holds the designation of TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Estate Planning Council (Toronto), the Estate Practitioners’ Group and STEP.
Carol has held various roles within the estate and trust industry in which she has provided guidance on estate, trust and incapacity planning, administration and litigation issues. Carol worked in private practice for over ten years before joining RBC Wealth Management in 2015.
As a Senior Trust Advisor, Karen Snowdon-Steacy is responsible for managing a complex book of accounts, and services clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Karen works with individuals, families and businesses to provide customized estate, trust and incapacity solutions. Whether it is helping someone to settle an estate, establishing a trust to ensure the successful transfer of family assets, or arranging to assist with the administration and responsibilities for a power of attorney, Karen can help. Karen also has specialized and experience in advising on philanthropic and charitable giving strategies for clients who wish to leave a lasting legacy.
A graduate of Victoria University at the University of Toronto specializing in history and political science, Karen has continued to deepen her knowledge and expertise with key industry designations such as Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP). Karen is a full member of STEP.
With 30 years of experience, Karen is well known within the local estate and trust industry and delivers well-balanced advice by staying abreast of product, industry, investment, tax and legislative developments. With a career focused on building client relationships, she is dedicated to providing assistance in the preservation, management and transfer of wealth between generations by providing solutions to implement clients’ estate, trust and philanthropic plans.
Michael Tarantino, MBA, CPA, CMA, CFP®, CIM, CIWM, FCSI, FEA, TEP
Vice President, Private Wealth Consultant
Michael has been in the Wealth Management Industry since 1997 where his primary area of focus has been in investment advisory and wealth advisory services. Michael joined RBC Wealth Management in 2020 as Vice President, Private Wealth Consultant; a role in which he will support advisors and fellow professionals in engaging enterprising families in broader discussions with respect to their family, their businesses and their wealth.
Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management Michael held several progressive roles at other financial institutions. Michael was the former Head of HNW Wealth Planning Services at another Canadian financial institution where he was involved in the development of: financial planning software, a HNW service delivery model, specialized planning services including the introduction of business advisory and cross border wealth planning.
Michael’s experience in conjunction with his completion of many industry leading designations suit him well as he helps initiate client discussions on family governance, family business succession, and legacy. Michael is dedicated to working as part of a multidisciplinary team guiding enterprising families to greater success.

James Wong, CPA, CA, CBV
Vice President, Business Owner Specialist, Family Office Services, RBC Wealth Management
As a member of the RBC Family Office Services team, James, together with your RBC advisor, can help you explore your business succession options. James understands the specific concerns faced by business owners and has extensive experience addressing their more complex needs.
For the past 25 years, James specialized in developing best practices around business succession planning and in the process helped several families achieve their business succession vision. He also authored a book, The Transition Experience: What every Canadian family should know about business succession planning.
His process not only focuses on technical matters such as business valuation, sale of business planning and tax planning, but also recognizes that business succession has a profound impact on a business family. As such, much of James’ process also involves assisting members of the family with the softer issues of planning, including post-succession and wealth.
James is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator and is a frequent presenter on business succession planning. He obtained his degree, Master of Commerce, from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and is currently a member of the Family Firm Institute.
Bobby Hinduja, CPA, CA, CBV

As a Business Owner Specialist, High Net Worth Planning Services, Bobby, together with your primary RBC advisor, helps you explore succession, tax, retirement and estate planning issues you face as a business owner.
Bobby has over 15 years of experience working with owners of privately held businesses to help them develop business succession, tax and estate planning solutions tailored to their goals and objectives. Prior to joining High Net Worth Planning Services, Bobby provided tax, retirement, estate and financial planning advice to RBC advisors and their clients. He has written articles on various topics including determining the value of a business, farm succession planning, tax planning and retirement planning.
Prior to joining RBC, Bobby was a Vice President at a boutique business valuation firm in Toronto where he worked with business owners to help them determine the value of their business for divestitures, litigation, tax and estate planning purposes. He also worked with owners to help them identify the value drivers of their business.
Bobby is a Chartered Business Valuator, a Chartered Professional Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. He has also completed all three levels of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course.
Barrington Grey, CFP, CLU, FEA

After four years with a leading life insurer, Barrington joined RBC in 1993 to help RBC advisors introduce their clients to a new strategy to build and protect their wealth: tax-exempt insurance.
