Aaron has a deep curiosity about the world around him and the people who pass through his life. Whether it be through travel, meeting new people, an academic pursuit, or engaging in a new hobby or sport, Aaron takes great joy in the discovery and learning that brings out the most from each experience. Aaron lives in North York with his wife Julia and young daughter Anastasia. Aaron often takes his family camping because he believes that it is helpful for all of us, especially young children, to be regularly immersed in natural environments to maintain focus and reset creativity.
He maintains a vegetable garden to experiment with planting techniques to grow an abundance of food within the constraints of an urban space while still maintaining a pleasing aesthetic. In a typical summer evening, he gets the greatest joy from helping his daughter search the garden for harvest opportunities.
Aaron has been fortunate to travel in many fascinating countries in Asia and Africa and he believes that the best experiences happen when you can get off the tourist routes, out of expensive hotels and submit to your surroundings. Aaron has motorcycled the length of Vietnam, trekked in remote Ethiopia, wandered the streets of Jakarta, and learned that the kindness of random strangers is better than any tour company.
Most recently Aaron has taken up road cycling with its mix of fitness, social engagement, and the exciting chase for greater speed. He is also challenging himself learning to restore and sail an old racing trimaran he dragged home a couple of years ago.
In his professional life Aaron works hard to cut through the noise and chaos in the financial markets to find the best solutions for his clients to achieve their goals.
