Making a difference where it’s needed most
The RBC Dominion Securities Toronto East branch has a long tradition of supporting the local communities that surround our office.
Our 2024 activities are listed below.
- In recognition of International Women’s Day, the Toronto East branch collaborated with Dress for Success Toronto to donate $4,000 and professional attire to help empower women in achieving economic independence.
- Members of the branch volunteered to support the runners of the Toronto Marathon at the Canadian Mental Health Association’s (CMHA) water station. In addition, the branch donated $4,000 to support CMHA’s efforts of making mental health care accessible to all.
- Our continued support for the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC) shined through this year. The Toronto East Branch held a food drive, raised $1,100, which is enough to sponsor two families for the holiday season, and purchased 15 toys as part of the Gift to Remember program to help families in need.
- The Toronto East branch partnered with our bank partners and the SCHC Food Bank to facilitate teams of 2-3 to volunteer at our local food bank. Our team picked up 2.5 hour shifts every other Thursday from February to May and from July to September. In addition, we hosted a drive to raise non-perishables, hygiene products, and household items to donate in support of SCHC.
- In support of RBC’s E-for-tree campaign, our branch emphasized the environmental importance of the switch to paperless through increased awareness for both clients and staff. With this effort, we managed to plant over 50 trees through converting clients to a more sustainable banking experience.
- Members of the branch participated in the RBC Race for the Kids 5km run in September with a donation total of $10,465.
- The RBC Dominion Securities Toronto East Branch, in collaboration with RBC Private Banking and RBC Retail Banking, organized an RBC Golf Charity Fundraiser which is projected to raise over $10,000 in support of the Scarborough Health Network and their mission of equitable healthcare in one of Canada’s most diverse communities.
