Lesley is a graduate of the University of Windsor Faculty of Law with a Juris Doctor degree and holds a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and the Ontario Bar Association (OBA), the Estate Planning Council of Canada and the Junior Trust and Estate Practitioners Group (JTEP), as well as a full member of STEP Canada.
In 2022, Lesley was nominated and shortlisted for the Young Practitioner of the Year Award through the STEP Client Awards, which recognizes excellence among practitioners who demonstrate great promise in the industry.
Before joining RBC Royal Trust, Lesley worked at two of Toronto’s top will and estate planners and estate litigation firms. In addition to her law degree, she earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminology from Western University, where she was awarded the Gold Medal in Criminology for her academic achievement.

Connie Freitas, BA, LL.B

Connie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1994.
Prior to joining RBC in 2012, Connie practised law for 18 years. As a partner in a mid-sized full-service law firm, her practice was varied and covered the areas of corporate/commercial law, real estate, and Wills, trusts and estates law. In that role, Connie advised her owner-manager clients on a broad range of business and personal needs, from purchases and sales of businesses, to shareholder agreements and corporate reorganizations, to Will and estate planning.
For many years Connie taught the Business Law section of the Bar Admissions Course and was involved with preparing the licensing exams for Ontario lawyers. Throughout her career, Connie has been involved in her broader community, serving on many non-profit boards as well as providing pro bono legal services.
Omair Zaman, CPA, CA, CFP

Omair is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner (CPA, CA, CFP). He holds a Masters degree from the University of Toronto in Management and Professional Accounting and has completed the three-year CPA Canada’s In-depth Tax program.
Prior to working at RBC, Omair worked as a Senior Manager in tax at one of the largest public accounting firms. In his role, Omair gained experience working with private companies, high-net-worth individuals, trusts and partnerships. His work included tax minimization through appropriate tax planning (corporate and personal), estate planning and business restructuring. As a Financial Planning Specialist, Omair’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting your Compass Financial Plan, as well as to identify and assess any related financial, tax and retirement planning concerns you may have.
