Remembering our heroes and their sacrifices for freedom

Remembrance Day is a day for Canadians to remember those who’ve fought and fallen for our values and freedom. We proudly continue to honour and recognize the achievements and sacrifices made by our fellow Canadians – including our colleagues. Tim Patriquin, Investment and Wealth Advisor and former Military Engineering Officer in the Canadian Forces, shares what Remembrance Day means to him.

“For me, Remembrance Day is a day of personal reflection, introspection and gratitude.  I’ve always taken the day off to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony and to gather with friends, fellow veterans and serving members of the Canadian Forces.  I remember my friend, fellow veteran (and one-time member of RBC), Mark Walden fondly, who we lost in 2016. I also reflect on the fact that too many have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in this amazing country.  We must not forget their sacrifices; we will remember them.”
