A long-term (since 2001) resident of The Beaches, Stephen has built his investment advisory practice based on developing local neighborhood relationships. He is intent on keeping his practice friendly, focused, responsive and client-centric.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo in 1993, Stephen spent his early professional years as a technology consultant designing systems for financial institutions. A professional financial planner since 2002, Stephen spent the first 10 years of his career with a major mutual fund company.
Recognizing the limitations of working exclusively in the mutual fund industry, Stephen made the deliberate decision to expand his practice. Joining RBC Dominion Securities Inc. in early 2012, he is now in a position to offer his clients broader and more cost-effective solutions than are available through so many ‘off-the-shelf’ proprietary mutual fund products.
Clearer disclosure, and an ability to offer access to fee-based accounts, is just two of the advantages Stephen is now able to deliver to his clients – most of whom have been with him for over a decade.
Sincere, genuine and gifted in his ability to explain complex financial concepts in a way that is easy to understand, Stephen believes in providing his clients with access to a wide range of financial product options as part of the wealth management planning process.
This collaborative, constructive approach is – Stephen believes – key to his success.
In addition to his professional competencies, Stephen has been a prolific traveler – in 2000 he and his wife Mary Ellen took a year off to backpack around the world – a multi-cultural experience he believes both broadened and deepened his outlook on life.
Stephen lives in The Beach with his wife and their two children. In his spare time Stephen can be spotted in the local soccer leagues, at their neighborhood school, relaxing in a local park, or doing projects around the home.
