Scott became a financial advisor in 2008, previously working as a consultant for the public sector managing community health care budgets and programs throughout Northwestern Ontario. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM).

A competitive curler, Scott has represented Northern Ontario in six Canadian championships, most notably reaching the 1993 Brier semi-finals and winning the gold medal in the 1985 Canada Winter Games. His last time at the Brier was as skip of the 2003 team. Scott is currently the vice-skip for the reigning Northern Ontario Sr. Men’s Curling Team and will be participating in the Canadian championships later this year.
Scott and his wife, Kathleen Lynch have been married for 34 years, have twin daughters – Hannah & Marielle, a golden retriever, Sheldon and together they enjoy spending time at the lake and travelling.
