Lauren obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of Calgary in 1978. He began his career as an Investment Advisor in 1982 with a predecessor firm of RBC Dominion Securities and since then has gained the trust and respect of his clients by providing them with sound, reliable investment advice. Today, Lauren continues to build his business almost exclusively through referrals from satisfied clients.
Lauren is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and has completed the Canadian Investment Management I and II (CIM). Lauren has been appointed Vice-President and Director of RBC Dominion Securities from 1990 to 2021. He achieved his Portfolio Manager designation (1998), which enables him to provide investment management on a discretionary basis. For the last 21 consecutive years, Lauren has been named a member of the RBC Dominion Securities Chairman's Council, a special group formed to recognize the firm's leading advisors.
At RBC Dominion Securities, Lauren has always been a leader in developing and employing the portfolio approach when advising clients. He has generously shared his strategy with colleagues and is often approached for guidance by new advisors entering the industry. Lauren finds that a personalized, long-term strategy that responds to an individual's financial situation allows him to identify and properly service their investment needs and objectives.
