Coady has assisted wealthy families with tax and estate planning since 1992. His expertise includes tax and estate planning for executives, business owners, professionals, retirees and those individuals with U.S. issues.
Coady is a lawyer and his educational background includes the completion of the CICA’s in-depth tax course (Levels I, II and III), a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance Major) from Bishop’s University, and a law degree from Dalhousie University. He is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association (Southern Alberta Branch, Tax Specialist) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Mikes relationships with top-ranked insurance companies are a great asset when working to secure your wealth. Specializing in estate planning, Mike provides solutions to various wealth management issues, and can focus on both personal and corporate solutions to help increase your net worth and reduce the impact of taxation today and at death.
Mike was born in Hamilton, Ontario and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, and attended Miami (Ohio) University on a hockey scholarship. He entered the financial services industry in 1988 with a major Canadian insurer in its executive training program.
Following his initial success there, he opened his own financial planning practice in Calgary in 1995, specializing in estate planning and employee benefits planning for individuals and business owners. In 1997, Mike formed a partnership with one of the largest independent mutual fund providers in Canada, and became a partner/manager in their Estate Planning Department for Western Canada.
Mike is an active member of ADVOCIS (Canadian Association of Insurance Professionals), and has his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Registered Health Underwriter Designations (RHU). He lives in Calgary with his wife and two children. He is active in community organizations and is a past President of Bow Valley Hockey Society, a non-profit minor hockey organization for youths.
