On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women who have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations.
Breaking Barriers in Finance World
Pam began her career in banking immediately after university. She worked her way up, recognizing early on the gender disparities in the industry where women were often assistants while men dominated as brokers. Determined to change this norm, she built a successful business from the ground up. She now leads a team dedicated to providing comprehensive wealth management advice to high value multi-generational global families, entrepreneurs, business executives, foundations, and non-profit organizations.
Having traveled to 33 countries and speaking multiple languages including English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysian, Pam understands the nuances of global markets and diverse client needs.

Chartered Market Technician (CMT)
Pam received her Chartered Market Technician designation in 2018. Globally recognized, the CMT designation is the highest distinction in technical analysis, held by just over 2500 professionals worldwide.

Women and Leadership: Lessons from Pamela Yoon
- How can women make an impact in Gender Parity?
Pam encourages women to stop playing small and chase their dreams without hesitation. “Love yourself. Don’t take a backseat to your spouse’s career. Find a spouse who will be your co-pilot to success.”
2 .How does Pam celebrate success and overcome failure?
Pam believes in celebrating both big and small wins, as they provide motivation and energy to keep going. She holds quarterly team dinners to celebrate their collective achievements. She views failures as valuable learning experiences. “I encourage learning from small failures because inevitably, we will be hit with a big failure. If we know how to get up from small fails, recovering from a big one becomes easier”.
One of her most significant personal challenges was the end of her 24-year marriage in 2019. Despite the emotional impact, she recentered herself, redefined her goals, and rebuilt her life. “Today, I am thriving, happy and healthy in a relationship and living the life of my dreams.”
- How does she prioritize self-care?
Pam plans her time strategically. “Energy is a vital force to me. I do less of the things that drain my energy (like delegating housekeeping) and more of the things that fuel me (like helping clients solve problems). Life is finite – we don’t know how much time we have. I won’t wait until tomorrow to do something I want to do today.”
- Is multitasking the key to career growth?
While many women are great multitaskers, Pam believes it’s not always a badge of honor. “Some people do it well (me), and some fall under pressure. You need to truly listen to yourself and do it your way. Love yourself – truly, madly, deeply. Everything else will fall into place.”
