Mike brings over 30 years of financial service experience to his role. He began his career in 1990 at a major international accounting firm and spent several years in both Canada and Australia, mainly in the area of tax. In 2000 Mike began to focus on investing and financial planning, and in 2005 joined Phillips, Hager & North.
Working out of the Calgary office, most of Mike’s work is in Alberta and B.C. serving high-net-worth families, however he also enjoys serving a handful of notable entities in the not-for-profit sector, including charities and foundations. His team creates customized client portfolios using a financial planning process that addresses not only today's markets, but also whatever might come next, both in markets and life events.
Mike obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction from the University of Alberta in 1989, and holds the following designations: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), a designation granted by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Mike balances his client-service with time spent with family and friends, and is often found hiking, golfing or traveling with his wife, Corinne and his two adult children.
