Ned obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Victoria and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law. He was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1994. Subsequently, while employed in Asia and Switzerland, Ned obtained an International Trust Management (ITM) diploma and the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation with the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP). He continues to be actively involved with STEP, a worldwide professional body of practitioners, and adheres to the Society’s mandate of responsible stewardship and investment advising for individuals, families and businesses.
Ned has worked in the wealth management industry (both domestically and internationally) for 30 years, acting in the capacity of Trustee, Private Banker, Lawyer and Investment Advisor with the largest Swiss, Canadian and U.S. institutions. He also has practiced law in a wealth advisory capacity, helping affluent investors with complex financial requirements address cross-border and estate planning concerns. Ned’s legal and trust background, coupled with his broad international experience, affords him a unique perspective when building and executing solutions for his clients. He also works in collaboration with RBC specialists and external professionals to ensure that your overall wealth strategy is informed and coordinated.
When not at the office Ned enjoys all pursuits outdoors; be they in the garden, on the water, bike or ski hill. He is an avid traveler, reader, budding cook and father of two adult children. Ned lives in West Vancouver with his spouse Katy and Labrador Indigo.
