My thoughts on what it means to be wealthy

As a Wealth Advisor, the definition of wealth is something that I often think about. In my mind, you can consider yourself wealthy if you can do what you want when you want, while having the peace of mind that your family and affairs are well looked after during your lifetime and after you’re gone. This is the type of wealth that I strive to help my clients achieve.

If you look at wealth from this perspective, it becomes clear that for many of us being healthy is an important part of what it means to be wealthy. In fact, as we age we tend to worry less about whether our portfolio will be enough to meet our needs, and more about whether our health will allow us to enjoy the rewards of our years of hard work.

As with investing, there will always be aspects of our health that are outside of our control. However, there are also physiological changes that come with aging that we can predict, and that we may be able to prepare for by taking the time to focus more carefully on our health as we age. As with investing, the most valuable commodity we have when it comes to our health is time. While it is never too early to make our health a priority, it is also never too late to start. With this in mind I have attached an article titled: The Choice to be Active and Stay Healthy.

This article is an example of the health and lifestyle topics that are regularly covered in Perspectives Magazine.
