Kathy’s unwavering commitment to improving peoples’ lives has shaped her 26-year career in financial services. Known for her trailblazing leadership, fearless perseverance, and community-focused spirit, Kathy was recognized by RBC for her significant contributions to the firm with the prestigious Women of Distinction Award in 2021.
Since 1996, Kathy has built her expertise as a dedicated wealth manager that supports and empowers her clients to take control of their financial futures. Kathy’s mission is to make wealth management simple. She takes great pride in her proactive approach; she effectively anticipates her clients’ needs and expertly guides them through each step of their financial journeys.
Kathy joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2002, after the firm acquired the Vancouver-based investment dealer where she was a principal. Prior to joining the securities industry, she had worked as an analyst in Ottawa, where she specialized in business and trade as well as the national economic and financial accounts.
With a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Arts (MA) in Economics and Quantitative Statistics from McMaster University, and her Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, Kathy remains dedicated to enhancing her education as well as supporting the education of others.
Kathy’s love of helping people extends into her community work; she regularly offers her time and support to several local organizations. A Vancouver native, Kathy takes a keen interest in sailing, kayaking, road biking, and skiing. Her husband, Jeff Buder, is a PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) of Canada professional. They have a daughter, Lily, and a son, Finlay.

Having joined RBC in 2013 and the Kathy Findlay Wealth Strategies team in 2021, Gurminder brings extensive financial service experience to her role as associate. Whether she’s opening accounts, handling complex documentation, or fielding questions and concerns, Gurminder’s top priority is providing real value to our clients. As she puts it, “Getting things right the first time makes their lives so much easier.”
Before joining Kathy Findlay Wealth Strategies, Gurminder earned her Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree from the University of Victoria, gained valuable corporate and customer service experience, and then founded a successful personal training business. Running her own business gave her the unique opportunity to help people reach their personal goals, and she’s proud that she continues to do so in her current role.
Gurminder remains passionate about fitness in her personal life; in her spare time, she likes to get in her cardio workouts through either walking, running, or hiking.
Jaden joins our team at RBC Dominion Securities following two years at Canaccord Genuity, where he began his career in a back office operational role, specializing in mutual funds and GICs. He graduated from SFU Beedie School of Business with a degree in Finance and Operations Management – and, with a strong interest in financial markets and a desire for constant self-improvement, he is actively pursuing his CFA designation.
Outside of work, Jaden is an avid sports fan, likes to stay active and has recently developed an interest in pour-over coffee. He enjoys trying light-roasted beans from local roasters and from roasters around the world.
